Terrazzo Sealing Services in Pittsburgh | MARBLELIFE EnduraCrete
Help protect terrazzo from staining and moisture while preserving its natural color and finish across Pittsburgh
Protect the beauty and long term value of your terrazzo with professional sealing from MARBLELIFE EnduraCrete of Pittsburgh. Terrazzo is known for durability, but without the right protection it can still absorb spills and hold onto grime, especially in high traffic areas and entryways that see tracked in dirt and seasonal residue. Our technicians begin with a careful evaluation of your floor, then deep clean to remove embedded soil, residue, and any film that could interfere with sealer performance. Once the surface is properly prepared, we apply a premium sealer selected for your terrazzo type and the way the space is used, helping reduce absorption while keeping the floor’s natural color and character intact.
Because cement based and epoxy based terrazzo respond differently, we tailor the sealing approach to match your material and your appearance goals. Sealing can also be coordinated with polishing or repairs when needed, creating a complete care plan for lobbies, corridors, showrooms, offices, and Pittsburgh homes. After service, we provide straightforward recommendations for terrazzo friendly cleaners and simple maintenance habits that help your sealed surface stay brighter, easier to clean, and more consistent over time.

Frequently Asked Questions
Terrazzo sealing is the process of applying a protective penetrating sealer to your terrazzo surface to help resist stains, moisture, and soil. It is important because it makes the floor easier to clean and helps preserve the natural appearance of the stone and chips over time.
Common signs include frequent staining, dark traffic lanes, dull patches that do not respond to cleaning, and surfaces that absorb spills quickly instead of beading them on top. A MARBLELIFE Pittsburgh technician can evaluate your floor and recommend whether resealing is needed.
Frequency depends on traffic, cleaning methods, and the environment. Many Pittsburgh homes can go several years between sealing services, while busy commercial spaces may need attention more often. MARBLELIFE will suggest a schedule that fits how your space is used.
Sealing itself is primarily for protection and may not create a high gloss finish. Shine and reflectivity usually come from proper honing and polishing. MARBLELIFE can combine cleaning, polishing, and sealing to deliver both protection and the level of gloss you desire.
Yes. MARBLELIFE technicians are trained to work with both cement based and epoxy based terrazzo systems and will select an appropriate sealer and preparation process for your specific surface.
Quality penetrating sealers are designed to preserve the natural look of the surface. In some cases you may notice a slight enrichment of color. Before full application, your MARBLELIFE technician can explain what to expect based on your specific floor.
Most residential projects can be completed in a day, depending on the size and condition of the area. Larger or heavily worn commercial spaces may take longer due to additional cleaning, repairs, or polishing steps that may be recommended before sealing.
Light foot traffic is often allowed after the initial cure period, which your technician will explain at the end of the visit. For best results, MARBLELIFE generally recommends waiting the full cure time before returning furniture or rolling heavy items across the floor.
Yes. Sealing helps protect the surface and makes cleaning easier, but regular professional cleaning and periodic maintenance from MARBLELIFE Pittsburgh will keep your terrazzo looking its best and can extend the life of the sealer.
Use MARBLELIFE approved terrazzo cleaners, avoid harsh or acidic products, and follow the simple maintenance plan your technician provides. Routine dust mopping, damp mopping with the right cleaner, and scheduled professional service will help your sealed terrazzo stay beautiful year after year.
Posted on Ludwig ReimmerTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I hired MARBLELIFE Pittsburgh for a quartz kitchen sink recut and was extremely pleased. Bob did exceptional work, surpassing what my wife and I expected. Communication was timely, and the quoted price matched the final cost. Highly recommend their reliable, professional service—definitely a 5+ star experience!Posted on wade saucierTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Pittsburgh Marblelife team was excellent. Restored an old 84 year old stone floor that had some water damage to the stones. Very happy with the results. At first we were going to place a wall to wall rug in the room. But after the restoration we decided to keep the floor exposed due to the fine restoration work. Thank you!Posted on Kalena ThomhaveTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I had a great experience with MARBLELIFE and Bob, and wholeheartedly recommend them. Bob and his team cleaned, honed, and sealed my kitchen countertops, and they look so beautiful. I’m not usually a review writer, but I have also never experienced being in love with kitchen counters. My partner and I are doing a low-cost “remodel” of our kitchen—you know, new paint job, new lighting fixtures, and other changes that don’t mean gutting and renovating and tens of thousands of dollars. Our granite countertops were perfectly useable, but I didn’t really like them. However, I knew replacing them would not only be wasteful, but also super expensive. I did some research, and I thought that getting them honed to a matte finish would make them fit the style of the kitchen better. Before I talked to Bob at MARBLELIFE, I talked to a couple other fabricators who weren’t interested in tackling our counters. And I think I get why—it would not only be a hard project, but matte counters are more finicky, so customers might not be pleased with the additional care needed. But Bob was totally open to honing our countertops! He was very communicative—we talked mostly by text, which is nice for millennials and also because I could easily pull up our conversation if I forgot details of something he said, and we also connected over the phone. Pricing was clear and reasonable with no surprises. Bob and his team completed the job quickly and even left us some sealant for the next time the counters need it. AND THEY LOOK SO GOOD! This review is getting too long, but let me just say if you’re thinking about a matte finish: the colors of the stone are so much richer and it’s also so clear the counters are made of NATURAL STONE. Yes we need to be better about taking care of it, but I don’t mind. If I knew more about granite and stone I know I could say more about how professional Bob was, but I can say that it is clear he’s both an expert and a good and reliable businessperson. If and when we have any other issues with stone or tile, I know who we will be calling!Posted on Marianne DeanTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Kristen and Bob were very responsive, timely and professional. They repaired a large scratch in my corian countertop, replaced the caulking and repaired a chip in my ceramic tile floor. Their work was incredible. The Corian and the ceramic tile look like the day I bought them. I highly recommend Marblelife!Posted on Rocky MedureTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Bob and his team restored our slate floor and did an absolutely amazing job. Their care and effort shine through. Huge thanks to them for excellent customer service and thoughtfulness.Posted on Jane PTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Superb workmanship and excellent service! We have a 20-yr old travertine bathroom and shower that had never been professionally cleaned before. Bob and his team were able to clean/sand away etching and stains from the counter and shower entry and deep clean the shower, removing soap scum and mildew. It looks as good as it did 20 years ago! Bob also cleaned and sealed our granite kitchen counter. We had a sink that was installed without proper supports and we have dealt with leaks along the rim for years. Because Bob has experience with stone installation, he was able to reinstall the sink with proper supports - it has never been more secure. Throughout the process, Bob consults you to make sure you are happy with what they are doing and will adjust as needed. We couldn't be happier with the service and will use Bob on a regular basis for deep cleaning and resealing.Posted on Jim HarpsterTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Our countertop was damaged by the stove installers. Bob and his wife came to the rescue and made our countertop look like it as brand new! He was fast, clean and efficient!Posted on innocentrage1Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I had a stress fracture crack in my quartz countertop and Bob came out and looked at it and told me because it was quartz, a man made stone, he could glue it back together but it was highly possible that in a year or two it may crack again and suggested a new countertop may be the better option. Bob has many years experience in this business and had a list of contacts he provided me. I contacted one of those contacts and got a beautiful new countertop that was way better than the crafmanship of my old countertops done by a chain retail store. Even though Bob did not get my business this time I will be using him in the future for any services with my new countertops. I admire him for helping me and making suggestions even though it didn't make him a profit. A lot of companies would of just taken my money with a quick glue fix and I would have run into the same problem later down the road.Posted on John BaronTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Bob and his team were fantastic. They went out of their way to get me out of a situation concerning a marble mosaic floor and exceeded all my expectations. Can’t thank them enough.Posted on Rob RikerTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. These guys really over-delivered! We understood that the 136 yrs of baked-on soot were likely to be impossible to clean completely, and confirmed with several quotes. But they gave it a ton of time and attention and got it much further than we dared hope. A good bit of structural repair and an exceptional attention to detail rounded out a great project. They were reliable schedulers and good communicators, both rare to find in in-home contractors. Looking forward to having them back to help with more fireplaces. One warning: for work like this with structural repair it would be good to schedule when windows can be open, as their epoxy has a powerful odor! Was eager to leave this review & share our enthusiasm.Load more
